Hello friends! Today is the second day of the countdown teasers for the September release from Clearly Besotted. Today’s card is something a bit more serene, and not a critter or spooky friend in sight! I decided to do a little bit of watercolouring for this card and tried out my new Mijello Mission Gold watercolours (love!). The set I am showcasing today is the beautiful Ring Around Autumn. It is a wreath set, and there are critters you can use to sit inside the wreath, but I chose to go without today.
Arches Cold Pressed is my watercolour cardstock of choice so I took a panel of that and stamped the wreath 3 times uisng Picket Fence Studios Hybrid Black Ink. I used the MISTI to make sure I had a good impression as the cardstock is textured. I could have used Arches Hot Pressed cardstock as it a smooth cardstock but I wanted the texture on this seasonal card. I merrily watercoloured away, mixing up autumnal colours to complete my wreath. I also used a light blue/grey wash around the wreath, just to give it a bit of a background.
I added splatters of paint to add more interest and I also splattered a mix of Perfect Pearls over it so when you tilt it into the light, you see the gorgeous pearly dots. It really is such a small step but makes a big difference to your finished card. I set it aside to dry before trimming it down to mat onto a SSS Ivory cardstock base card. The ivory cardstock is a PERFECT match for the watercolour cardstock.
I took a sentiment from Seasonal Sentiments and stamped it onto some MFT Grout Gray cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black ink, and then trimmed it into a banner. This was popped up with foam tape and a few White Orchid sequins from Lucy’s cards added as a little extra embellishment.
I think this is a beautiful set and I loved watercolouring the wreath. Thank you as always for stopping by and visiting me. Before you go, do hop over to the Clearly Besotted blog, Keren, Michelle and our guest designer Francine, to see what they have to inspire you. See you tomorrow!
