Hello there friends! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas over at Clearly Besotted as it’s time for the October release! Myself and the rest of the Design Team plus two guest designers are going to be counting down to release day and sharing lots of inspiration with you. I am kicking the teasers off with a super duper little set called Holiday Huskies.
I thought I would have a change from ink blending a background today and whipped out my Alcohol Inks. Truth be told, I am quite nervous with Alcohol Inks, they are unpredictable and I always end up in a hot mess. But I recently swatched the inks I own and felt I had a little bit of a better idea what to do. For this background I used Pool, Stream and Botanical inks. I began by taking a piece of white yupo paper and using a pipette, I applied some isopropyl alcohol 99% solution randomly over the cardstock. I then dropped a few spots of each ink and used an air puffer to blow it around. If I needed it to spread the ink a bit more I added another tiny drop of isopropyl where I wanted to dilute the ink and blew it around again. When I was happy with how it looked, I set it to one side to dry. Actually I did several panels, some using different colours, so that I would have a choice and I have kept those for other projects.
Next I stamped some of the sweet little images from the Holiday Huskies set (there are several huskies to chose from) and coloured them with Copics. They were fussy cut out and set to one side. When the alcohol ink panel had dried I trimmed out the section that I liked the most and adhered it flat onto an A2 top folding horizontal base card. I took the MFT Stitched Snow Drifts dienamics and die cut a snow bank from white cardstock which was also adhered with double sided tape.
I mapped out where to put my images and then either used Multi Medium Matte or foam tape to stick them down. I took the Mama Elephant Park Avenue die set and cut the frame from Neenah 80lb cardstock and also adhered that flat – such a pretty frame, I love the little scalloped edge! To finish I stamped a greeting from the set onto black cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and heat set. This was trimmed to size and popped up with foam tape.
So that finishes my first countdown teaser for you! Do hop over to the Clearly Besotted Blog, Michelle, Keren and our two fabulous guest designers, Francine and Caly. I will be back tomorrow with another teaser for you. In the meantime, happy crafting!

Oh my! They just keep getting cuter and cuter. I’m thinking this release is going to be a good one and as I need about 40 cards, I clearly need some new stamps to go with them……. looking forward to seeing what else you have lined up!
