Welcome back to day 2 of the Clearly Besotted October release countdown teasers. Oh my goodness, when I saw this set, I just knew it would be one I had to use!! It is called Baa Humbug and has the most delightful sheep images that look just like I feel with the thought of Christmas coming up and no one knowing what the heck is going on with the pandemic and whether they will be working, even have a job, or whether we will all be having Christmas in separate houses! I hope not. It will be my first Christmas hosting everyone here at our new house and the fact we cannot plan anything is already making me go googly eyed.
But enough of that, here is the card!
Oh my heavens! I laugh every time I look at those sheep, the chewed tree and the stop sign! Too funny! On this card I started off by colouring the images. So as always, they are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto white cardstock and then I coloured them with Copics. They were fussy cut out and set to one side. I did have an extra sheep and some fence panels coloured but decided not to use them, but they are there waiting for me to find some spare time. Whenever that might be!
For the background, I took a panel of white cardstock and the MFT Drifts & Hills Stencil. I taped the stencil down with Frog Tape and then applied Peacock Feathers Distress Ink above the stencil and fading out towards the top. I was going to splatter some water on it and then I had an epiphany! That gorgeous Frostbite Nuvo Glacier Paste sitting in the drawer would look fab on this card. So out it came along with the Clearly Besotted Snow Day stencil. I placed that down over the top of the hills stencil and applied the paste using a palette knife. I removed all the stencils and set the panel aside to dry. The paste is quite bubbly and moussy (?) when you apply it, but it dries quite flat and actually looks like you have foiled the snow. It’s lovely in real life. And don’t forget to clean all your stencils pronto – you don’t want that paste getting stuck on there.
To frame my little scene, I die cut two MFT Stitched Rectangle Frames and adhered them with glue onto the finished panel. My images were added using DST or foam tape. The sentiment is from the set and I thought it would be less stark to do it in white and not black. So it was just stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and trimmed to size. I also popped this up with foam tape. I think I will actually add some shimmer to the card before it goes out and also a little glaze onto the bauble. Of course, I didn’t think to do that before photographing! Ahhhh well.
Do hop over to the Clearly Besotted Blog, Michelle, Keren and our two fabulous guest designers, Francine and Caly. I will be back tomorrow with another teaser for you. In the meantime, thanks for joining me and happy crafting!
