Hello everyone, today it is World Cardmaking Day and it is also a celebration! My friend and teamie Erica is celebrating almost hitting 10k followers on Instagram and we at Picket Fence Studios are having a little Instagram and blog hop, in recognition of both happy events!
I recently purchased the very pretty Beauty and Song set from Picket Fence. I thought this was such a lovely image to colour and so I chose that for the celebrations today. To eek out the last throes of summer I decided to go a little tropical with my colours. I think this image is gorgeous however you decide to colour it. And it looks beautiful embossed over an ink background too.
I stamped the image using PFS Hybrid Black Ink onto Neenah 80lb cardstock and coloured it with Copics. I have listed the colours below if you are interested in what I used. There is nothing fancy about creating this card, just stamp the image, put some music on and away you go. Enjoy the process of colouring without masking!
I die cut two gold frames using Hero Arts Rectangle Infinity dies and adhered them stacked together and then onto the card. I felt that they draw your eye into the image more than if left without. And then all I did was stamp a sentiment from the set onto black cardstock. I used Versamark Ink and then applied Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and heat set. This was popped up with foam tape.
I added a few sequins from PFS The Pink Lady – this is a lovely mix of iridescent, bright pink, soft pink and pinky/gold sequins. Huge congratulations to Erica on nearing that magic milestone! And of course, as it’s World Cardmaking Day it would be remiss to not make a card today. Enjoy your day whatever you are upto. Happy crafting!
Copics used: (RV69, RV17, RV06) (YR16,Y38, Y19, Y08) (BG49, BG34, G12) (G07, YG03, YG01) (E37) (C9, C5, C3)
