Hello everyone, welcome back to the second day of the countdown teasers for the Clearly Besotted February release. Today’s card is to celebrate Easter. Over the past year, Clearly Besotted have released several “Ring Around” sets for different seasons or seasonal events. With that in mind, this month features the lovely Ring Around Spring set and here is my card.
I kept my card just a wreath but you have a choice of lamb, chick or bunny to position sitting in the wreath along with some accompanying smaller critters for accents. The wreath was stamped onto Neenah 80lb cardstock using Copic friendly ink and then coloured with Copics. I have painstakinly listed them all below and tried to keep the numbers to a minimum or I’d be there all day! Once I finished the colouring, I fussy cut the outer edge and inner portion of the wreath and set it to one side. As I am useless with a craft knife, I cut the line between the two eggs using scissors to get me to the inside section and then added some double sided tape to the back to seal it back up afterwards. You’d never know, it’s impossible to see it in real ife!
Rather than keep my background white as I so often do, I wanted to do something a bit bolder and thought a flat colour might look better than a blended panel as there is already quite a lot going on with the wreath. I do actually think a light blended panel would have been fine but you know I like my bold colours, so I rooted around in my cardstock and found some gorgeous Lavender Fields cardstock from MFT which has sadly been discontinued. I trimmed the panel slightly and then scored at 3/4″ all the way down and then flipped the panel over so the raised scoring lines were visible. I taped it down onto an A2 card base with double sided tape.
Foam tape was added to the back of the wreath before adhering that down. I stamped a greeting from the set onto black cardstock using Versamark Ink. Hero Arts White Detail Embossing Powder was my powder of choice today, so I applied that and then heat set before adding this also onto the panel with foam tape.
To finish the card, a rather generous amount of clear sparkle was added courtesy of my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Overlay pen. And there we go, took a while, but I liked how it came out. Scoring can also make such a difference to a plain panel. Don’t forget to hop over to the Clearly Besotted blog, and onto Michelle and Keren aswell as our guest designers, Mindy and Rina. I am sure they will be sharing lots to whet your appetite. Until tomorrow, happy crafting!

This is beautiful, Lisa! I love the colouring on the wreath and it paid beautifully with the background panel. Of course, I love the scoring line detail! xx
