Hello everyone, I hope you are well. Welcome to the penultimate day of countdown teasers for the May release from Clearly Besotted. Today’s card uses the most adorable set called Love Roo. To create your card you have lots of sweet roos to pick from plus a background featuring Ayers Rock! I should probably say Uluru as I think that is it’s official name. I visited Australia many years ago and this was one of my stops on my “round the word” trip. At the time, unlike now, you were allowed to climb the rock but the best time to do it was first thing in the morning. That was a bit of a put off for me but my asthma was the main reason I didn’t do the climb (my story and I’m sticking with it!). I just sent my camera up with someone else to take photos from the top! It was a magnificent sight from my hostel bed though, with the sun coming up behind it – magical.
So, here is my card, with mum and baby roo featuring in this one.
This was a pretty quick card to make. I stamped the background first and then took a multiliner and extended the black lines across the panel. I created a mask, placed it down and then went to town with my Distress Inks. I used, from top to bottom, Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin, Candied Apple and Picked Raspberry. As I wanted a really bright vibrant background without doing a complete workout, I picked up my mini ink blending tools for this one!
I then picked two of the cuties from the set, stamped them and coloured them with Copics. They were fussy cut and foam tape added to the back before I adhered them onto the panel. The panel was then added to a card base. My sentiment is from the set and was white heat embossed onto black cardstock, trimmed out and popped up with more foam tape.
In the dark reaches of my ageing brain, I recalled hearing the word “bae” in some American TV series we had watched. But as I am not a teenager and am veering into old fogey land when it comes to “modern day language” I had to google what it actually meant whilst writing this post! When used by young people, it is a shortened version of babe, or baby. And also apparently means “before anyone else”. Who knew? Not me, but now I do, and I will take every opportunity to include it in my vocabulary from now on! Or maybe not…. But isn’t it just a great sentiment to have as part of this set!
A little black glaze was added to the eyes – most months I forget to do this but it really makes a difference on the final card! So there you have it. I’ll be back tomorrow with my final teaser for you. Bee there or bee square (hint hint). Don’t forget to hop on over to the Clearly Besotted blog, Michelle, Keren, Francine and Adelle. Until then, have a great day and thank you for your visit, I appreciate you all.

Aww, this is so sweet! I love how you used Uluru in the background and how amazing that you got to see it in person. That ink blending is fantastic, I love the vibrancy of it and of course, those kangaroos are too cute! xx
