Hello friends, welcome to the start of the teasers for the Clearly Besotted September 2021 release. We are back on schedule this month and so the Design Team, plus our guests, will be sharing inspiration over the coming days. Release day is on the 1st September at 8pm BST. This month features some super scary (but oh-so-cute) halloween sets along with some sets themed around monsters, unicorns, royal corgis, meerkats and cleaning! So plenty of variety for you. I am starting off with a card featuring Meerkat Mischief. This set contains lots of adorable meerkat images as well as some rocks for them to be sitting/standing or peeping out from behind.
For my card, I began by creating my background and for this I took a rectangle masking stencil and placed it over an A2 Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock panel. I secured it from behind using Frog Tape. From the top down, I blended Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo, Tattered Rose and Scattered Straw Distress Inks. I then placed the Sunny Day stencil down over the top and blended through the rays using the same inks. You can’t see the Scattered Straw much as I ended up covering it with the rocks, but there is a little peek of it right at the bottom! I often forget to use Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock for blending and I really must try to remember as I do find that inks blend more smoothly when I use it, particularly dye inks.
Next I took a few of the meerkats from Meerkat Mischief, along with the rocks, and stamped them using Copic-friendly ink onto some white cardstock. I coloured them with Copics (numbers are listed below) and then fussy cut them out. I adhered the rocks flat onto the stencilled panel using MFT On-Point Precision Glue and popped the meerkats up with foam tape. I think the two huddled together are just so cute!
To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from the set onto black cardstock using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set before trimming it out and popping it up with foam tape. I then mounted the panel onto a 110lb Neenah Solar White card base.
Do head over to the Clearly Besotted blog, and onto Keren, Michelle and our fabulous guests, Francine, Adelle, Keeway and Alberto (Instagram) to see what they have to tempt you! I’ll be back tomorrow with a little halloween fun for you. Thank you as always for your visit, happy crafting!
