Hello friends, how are you all? It’s been a while since my last blog post. I have been swanning around France for over two weeks and am now back to earth with a bump! Don’t know about you, but after catching up on all the jobs from being away for two weeks, I am about ready for another holiday!
Enough of that… for today’s card, I am sharing a card using some colouring that I did during the recent 30 Day Colouring Challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin. Here is my finished card:
For some reason, this has been my most liked piece of colouring on Instagram, which I originally just coloured as a background panel. As it was liked so much, I decided that it mostly had to stay in one piece, so I only chopped a bit off the bottom and mounted it onto a white base card with a black strip to provide some contrast and tie in with the sentiment. To cut the curved edge I used my newly purchased Stitched Edge dies from MFT. You did read that right, my newly purchased dies means my spending ban is over! Yippeee!
A little bit about the colouring. I was very kindly given some Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens by some lovely crafty friends of mine and I have totally fallen in love with them. I use them on Bristol Smooth Paper as they really work best on this medium, I have tried others, but the movement of the ink and the blending of colours is not nearly as smooth.
I had pre-stamped the panel from the gorgeous Altenew Peony Bouquet stamp set using Black Archival Ink, so all I had to do in the colouring was grab a few markers and lose myself for half an hour – bliss! I cannot remember the exact colours, but it was really simple colouring, with just a little blending on the leaves and the base of the flowers.
To finish the card (it is a standard American A2 size), once it was mounted up, I added the two sentiments and a few black and gold adhesive stones.
I hope you like the card. Thank you so much for stopping by and I will catch you all next week.
