Hello friends!
Today I am sharing a card that I made for my super sweet crafty friend Steph’s birthday today.
I know she is a huge fan of Altenew, and that her favourite colour is blue/teal. So I combined both to make her this birthday card.
I started by stamping the main flower image from Wild Hibiscus randomly over some Bristol Smooth paper, using Versamark ink. As I was going to heat emboss the image, I stamped just a few flowers at a time, adding the powder and heat setting it as I went along so that I could see the design better. Once I had stamped and embossed all the flowers, I added some berries and leaves from Altenew Peony Bouquet to fill in the gaps and gold embossed those too.
I used a combination of 3 colours of Zigs for the colouring. I don’t have lots of colours, but fortunately I had a combination that I thought would work well together so I just laid some colour down and moved it around with a water brush – very loosely, not worrying if I went outside the lines here and there – the style of the stamp I think allows for that! Once I had done the bulk of the colouring, I heat set it, and added a slightly darker colour in the centres of the flowers. Once completely dry, I die cut the finished panel using my Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles set.
I then cut a strip of vellum, stamped the sentiment in gold and heat set it. I wrapped it around the card, securing it with tape at the back. I then just adhered the panel to an A2 base card using double sided adhesive tape.
A few sequins from my stash completed the card.
I hope you like the card, and I will be back soon with another project. Thank you for stopping by!

It’s beautiful and I love that you incorporated her favourite company and her colours – it’s a lovely shade of blue and I love loose watercolouring. The flowers are so perfectly spaced out – I never can quite get that to work for me and one always is further away from the others! Lol! I love the sentiment too – perfect for Steph :0) xx
