Hello crafty friends
I hope you are all well, we are drawing towards the end of March and since January I have been dreaming of Spring. If I am honest, I have been dreaming about Spring since November. So of course, flowers “spring” to mind yet again.
My ever so sweet crafty friend Snow has her birthday this week. Snow is a young crafter that I met via Instagram about 18 months ago. Not only does she make the most gorgeous cards (cute critters and florals), she always takes time to leave lovely comments on my creations, and she particularly likes my floral cards. So naturally I wanted to make her a floral card for her birthday.
Here is my card for today.
The stamp is from Studio Light and I received it as a gift for my birthday from a crafty friend. So it was very fitting to use it on a birthday card to one of my crafty friends.
I took a scalloped frame die and cut a panel from Neenah Solar White cardstock (80lb) and then used my MISTI to stamp the image onto the panel with Memento Tuxedo Black. I wanted to make sure that the ink did not bleed with Copics, and this ink is perfect for these markers.
One of the great things about the Studio Light stamps are that they have a printed coloured image in the packaging so you can use that to help you determine your colours and light and shade. I am still building my stock of Copic markers, so I found four shades of purple and a couple of yellows and greens and set to work!
I then picked a sentiment from Clearly Besotted and stamped it onto Neenah Solar White using Versafine Onyx Black ink, which is great ink for stamping sentiments as it gives such a crisp finish. I then added some foam tape to the back and popped it onto the panel.
I adhered the panel to a piece of blue cardstock and then onto a white card base. I finished by adding some sequins from Studio Katia.
That finishes my card for today and I really hope that Snow likes her card and has a wonderful birthday.
You may notice that I have changed my backdrops for photographing my cards (hip hip hooray)! These beautiful photoboards were a present for my birthday and I am thrilled with them. I think they make a big difference to the look of the final photographs. Now I have to go in search of props…..! So much to learn, so little time.
I thank you, as always, for stopping by and hope you have a great weekend. I will be back soon with another project.
