Another week, another birthday card! But hey, birthdays are to be celebrated. Always.
My card today is for another crafty friend who celebrates her special day today. I repeat stamped the images from Altenew Bamboo Rose onto a piece of Neenah cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black and set about colouring with Copics – I really love the bold outline of these stamps. I picked this set up recently having drooled over it for months. In the end, I always give in!
I then had my usual dilemmas around the sentiment. It never gets easier! So eventually I picked a sentiment from a different Altenew Set (Amazing You) and stamped that onto a Neenah 110lb base card. I then cut the coloured panel at a diagonal, worked out where to put the little gold glitter strip and stuck in all down. A healthy dose of Wink of Stella to finish it off, as sparkle is mandatory on birthday cards. Voila! Easy peasy, nothing too hard in this card, just a little hour or so of colouring whilst watching Andy Murray win his first round match at Wimbledon :). Yes, I made this a month or so ago, Wimbledon and the lovely sunny weather are all but a distant memory now.
I don’t always put “happy birthday” on the front of a birthday card – I find it can be restricting and let’s face it I have enough problems with sentiments without restricting myself further. But the message inside will of course reflect her special day.
Thank you for stopping by. I wish you all a happy weekend and I hope you get some crafty time to yourselves.
