Hope you are all well and getting some crafty time for yourselves. Although we are not officially doing a countdown today as it is release day, I couldn’t resist one more!! This card features Pirates At Play, and it is a larger set, so really great for creating a little scene.
I began by masking off an area to create my sand and then I softly applied Antique Linen distress ink, gradually building the colour up but not going too deep with it.
I then created masks for the pirate, chest and parrot and set about stamping and masking the little scene. I used Memento Tuxedo Black to stamp my images as it is Copic friendly. If you don’t like masking, there are coordinating dies available for this set.
I left the masks on and took my Radiating Rays stencil and applied Dried Marigold and Squeezed Lemonade distress inks. I wanted it to do two things – I wanted it to be sun rays but also I wanted it to look as if the chest full of coins was shining very brightly because of all the gold inside!
I removed the masks and the coloured the images with Copics (colours listed below in the supplies section). I put the whole panel back in the MISTI and stamped the greeting with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and added a few coats of glossy accents to the beak and sword which you can see in the picture above. I also used my Sakura Black Glaze gel pen on her eyes, so that they stand out a little.
Lastly I mounted the whole panel onto some Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. This card is A2 (American sized). I think this is a really adorable set – there are many cute scenes to be made with barrels, chests, parrots, flags. So much fun!
Thank you as always for joining me today. I wish you a great week ahead!
