Hello friends
Today I have a few cards to share with you. I wanted to have a small supply of thank you cards ready to send out, and thought it would be an ideal opportunity to use the MISTI and a turnabout stamp. I don’t often just stamp a card, I often colour in some way, so it made a nice change to get the inks out!
For those of you that are unfamiliar with turnabout stamps, Jennifer McGuire has some excellent videos on how to use them, and I link to one of her blog posts here which has a video on how to set up your MISTI for this technique. My cards are very similar to those that she shows in her video.
For all cards I used the fabulous Dahlia turnabout stamp and die from Concord & 9th. I also used Altenew dye inks on all cards and all were stamped on Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock.
I created my turnabout card template first – this helps me to know how to rotate the stamp. It is a 5″ x 5″ square scrap piece of card, marked with a cross which indicates where the centre of the template is. This is placed into the MISTI as a guide.
I temporarily adhered my Neenah cardstock on top of the template, lined up my stamp and then I stamped the image, rotating 90 degrees each time in the same direction, changing inks as I go.
For the card above I used Warm Sunshine, Ocean Waves and Frayed Leaf for stamping the image. I dropped the fourth colour and used the die instead, which cuts out some portions of the card and allows your card base to show through. It’s pretty and is my favourite way of using the stamps and die. The die is the “thanks” die from Simon Says Stamp and it is die cut three times, adhered together and covered with Wink of Stella so it sparkles beautifully.
For the card above, I did the same design also using the die, and for this card I used Warm Sunshine, Coral Berry and Ocean Waves. I used the same “thanks” die as I did above and this was also adhered with Ranger Multi Medium Matte.
For this third card, I used four ink colours and didn’t use the die. The colours are Buttercream, Lavender Fields, Frayed Leaf and Ocean Waves. Most of the colours are double stamped. I took the “Hello” stamp from Concord & 9th’s Hello Lovely set and white heat embossed it onto a strip of black cardstock. It is popped up on the card with foam tape.
For all cards I added Wink of Stella onto some of the leaves and then mounted them onto Simon Says Stamp cardstock. I link to the cardstocks I use below.
Thank you as always for your visit. Sorry this is a long post, I hope you stuck with me until the end! I will be back soon with another project and as always I welcome any comments you have on my cards, I always love to hear from my readers.

Oh wow! I can never get my head round these ‘complicated’ stamps, but the results when you take the time, are really worthwhile. I just LOVE the look and all the different colours. I didn’t know they had a die to go with them. That is just genius too! Perfect for getting a few similar but different cards in the bag. xx
