Today I have a very CAS card for you. I have been playing around with my alcohol inks again recently and I created a number of panels that I will try and use for cards over the coming months.
So, here is my card for today.
I sometimes wonder how to use my panels when I make them, but thought this particular piece would look good behind a silhouette cityscape. To create the cityscape panel I did a little partial die cutting so that the front piece was all one panel and not a separate die cut stuck on top of the white square. The die is an old one from Clearly Besotted which is sadly discontinued, but any cityscape die you have will be great.
To make the background, I used Sailboat Blue, Purple Twilight and Raspberry Alcohol Inks and I applied some generous drops onto some Yupo paper. I blew the inks around a bit with a straw and added in some Alcohol Blending Solution. I then blew the liquid around again with the straw so that the colours would mix together in a kind of wave pattern. It’s very hard to describe this technique and say you will get the same results because you may not – you really do have to play around with them and see how they behave! Fun, most of the time :). And remember, mostly your finished panels don’t look like much – they tend to come to life when you cut them up! Haha! Well, that’s what I keep telling myself.
I stamped my sentiment from Clearly Besotted Fairytale Unicorns in Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I thought it would fit well with the bright sky and the “living” theme.
Lastly, I adhered a piece of the background onto an A2 Neenah 110lb base card and then stuck the white panel on top using wet adhesive. That finishes the card for today and into the box it goes for a suitable occasion.
Thank you for stopping by, you are always welcome and I hope you have a fabulous week.
