I fell in love with these little hippos – how can you not, especially as they are holding all those yummy treats – which I also love!
I started off stamping the images using Memento Tuxedo Black onto Neenah cardstock. I then coloured them with Copics (numbers listed above the Supplies section) and set them to one side to work on the ink blending.
First I die cut three scalloped frames and placed them on a white panel which had been die cut with a stitched frame. I traced the inside edge of each frame, so that I would know where to place my masks for blending. I then took a similar sized circle die and cut some masks from masking paper.
I blended Distress Inks into each circle and then adhered the scalloped frames on the top using wet adhesive, trimming them down where they hung over the side.
Next I added foam tape to the back of the hippos and stuck these onto the panel. I stamped and white heat embossed the sentiments from Tiny Type and cut them down to size. These were also popped up with foam tape.
Lastly I added Nuvo drops for embellishment, plus some sparkle to the lolly, ice cream and drink. I also added some black glaze pen to their eyes.
Aren’t they just the cutest little hippos!
Please pop over to see what Stephanie, Keren, Michelle and our two guest designers for this month, Anita and Lisa have created. I always look forward to seeing what my friends have made and I am sure they won’t disappoint with their fabulous cards.
I will be back tomorrow with another teaser for you. Until then, have a fabulous day
