Hello friends
Today I am back with a card using a sweet tag that I was very kindly sent recently by Spellbinders. And I have gone for something a bit different for me today – a contemporary graphic card. This tag comes from a collection by Tammy Tutterow and is called From Heart and Hand Sew Sweet Collection. I just used the tag and heart from the set for my card today. I think the shape of the tag is super pretty with that little scalloped edge! And I love the slightly elongated heart shape.
I started by creating the tag which has two layers. I die cut the white tag first and then ran it through the die cutter again with the little heart from the set. Next I die cut the tag and ringlet from pink cardstock. I added some foam tape in between the two layers so that there is some dimension and also so that you you get a pop of pink when you look from the side – you can see this more easily below.
At this point, I settled on my final colour scheme. I wanted the tag to pop against the background so took a panel of white cardstock and stamped the brush strokes from Mama Elephant Brush Strokes using my MISTI and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I set this aside to make sure it was dry and then trimmed the panel down.
Next I added some twine to my tag and tied a bow (as usual this took forever!) and adhered the background panel onto the base at an angle using DST. Then I added some double sided tape to the back of the tag and popped that on top. The sentiment from Mama Elephant Everyday Greetings was stamped onto white cardstock with Versamark, gold embossing powder added and then heat set. This was fussy cut and adhered to the tag using foam tape.
To complete the card I added three enamel dots to tie the pink into the background a little better. When pulling the card together, I tried to go with the rule of thirds – black and white as my main colour, less of the secondary colour (pink) and then a pop of the third colour (gold).
That finishes my card for today. Thank you as always to Spellbinders for letting me play with some of their products. I will be back soon with another project for you and in the meantime, happy crafting!

I do love the black and white with that pink. Such a classy combination. Nice to see you trying something different. It definitely worked – definitely still recognisable as one of yours as well 🙂 Love your honesty in your inability to tie bows!! LOL! xxx
