I am sharing a card today using the Leafy Frame die and it is SO beautiful! If you are a Simon Says Stamp fan, you will know that they recently came out with a Leafy Frame Stencil. The stencil is gorgeous and I decided to pair it with the die.
For this card I decided to get my Brusho out. I sprinkled some Leaf Green and Lemon pigment over a watercolour cardstock panel, spritzed with water until I was happy with the result and then left it to dry. I then ran it through my machine with the new die. I made sure to run it through a few times, as I do with any intricate dies so that they cut properly.
Next I applied temporary repositionable spray adhesive to the back of my stencil and adhered it to the front section of an A2 base card. I applied Fog ink through it to create a shadow which will sit behind the die cut frame. It doesn’t show up too well in the photos, but it is there, I promise!
Next I put lots of tiny bits of foam tape behind the leaves and adhered it to the base card so there is some lovely dimension. You can see that in the photo below.
Out came my much used Love die, with its coordinating shadow die. The love was cut from black cardstock and the shadow from Neenah 110lb, and I adhered these together with wet adhesive. I popped my complete card into the MISTI and stamped the “& hugs” greeting with Versafine Onyx Black ink (probably should have done this earlier but it worked out ok!). The “& hugs” is part of the new Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers set.
The love die cut was then popped up with foam tape. Lastly I cut 4 mini hearts from red cardstock, adhered them together and then onto the base card. Some Tonic Nuvo Aqua Shimmer was added to the hearts and the black love die cut.
That finishes my card for today. I can see so many uses for this frame, I think it would be beautiful die cut in black, with a sunset behind it, and maybe a silhouetted boat or something. Like you are looking out onto the sea from a window surrounded by leaves. Another time for that one!
