Hello friends, new and not quite so new!
Welcome to my blog if you are a new subscriber, and welcome back if you have been with me for a little while. It is great to see you all here and I am looking forward to sharing my cards with you in the future!
Today, this card goes out to all of you. I have been overwhelmed by the kindness shown to me following my Guest Artist video over at Jennifer McGuire’s channel. It truly has been humbling to receive so many lovely comments on my work and I thank you all more than I can say. It has been impossible to write to everyone, so what to do but make a card!
It is summer over here in the UK, and we have sun yay! So I figured a nice bright thank you was in order. I created this card from some panels that I made over the weekend. The background has been made with Distress Oxides blended onto Bristol Smooth cardstock (it makes it really easy to blend the inks if you use this cardstock). I use Winsor & Newton but Strathmore Bristol is just as good.
To give it a bit of bling, I spritzed some shimmer over the panel and left it to dry. In the meantime, I ran the SSS Marilyn full card die through my die cutting machine, using a shim as it is an intricate die. This was then adhered with Multi Medium Matte to the background panel.
I cut out a lot of different versions of the Thanks die and the shadow die (silver, gold, black, white etc) but in the end went with black on vellum so that it wouldn’t get lost with that busy bright background! The kindness sentiment, also from SSS, was stamped onto some white cardstock with black ink and adhered with wet glue to the panel.
I stacked up 5 layers of the thanks die cut – so it has LOTS of dimension, popped some foam tape onto the back of it and adhered that down.
To finish, the panel was adhered to an A2 top folding base and a selection of sparkling sequins added around the card. And that completes my card for today.
Thank you once again for being here with me, it really was an honour to be on Jennifer’s channel – and to be able to now share my work with so many of you. I have a few exciting things coming up in the next month to share with you, and I look forward to doing that!

Well thank you for the thank you card. It was super easy to compliment your work from Jennifer’s site because it was brilliant. It’s nice to meet another UK designer as I don’t seem to know lots on home turf. The card is so stunning, love the happy vibe.
