Hello again friends!
Today’s card is another card using one of the super adorable sets from Tracey Hey of Alpaca Pals. This is the third set I have used, and I have thoroughly enjoyed using all of them and I hope I get some time to revisit them and make a few more cards in the future.
The set I am using today is Shine Bright – it has a larger image of an Alpaca sitting on a crescent moon catching stars (adorable!), but I chose to go with one of the smaller animals and create a night sky scene.
I began by stamping the fox and star image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colouring them with Copics (numbers listed below). They were fussy cut and I ran my Memento marker around the edge so that they look tidy 🙂
A lovely friend recently sent me the beautiful Stars In The Sky die from MFT and I thought this would be perfect for today’s card. So I ran that through the machine with some navy cardstock. All the little stars that I popped out have been saved for future projects. Next I ran some green cardstock through my Big Shot with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside border die. I ink blended a little Mowed Lawn Distress Ink onto the hillside to add some variation to the green.
To assemble the card, the star panel was adhered onto my base card with DST followed by the green hillside. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.
I used a craft knife to cut a little slit into the fox image and inserted the star so it looks like he has caught it and is holding it. I added foam tape behind him and the star and placed them onto the panel.
To finish off, I die cut some yellow stars to match the larger star and adhered a few into the sky and some onto the grass around him. Some shimmer and glossy accents were added to the star and some black glaze pen to his nose!
A simple design, but I think it’s quite eye catching with all those bright colours and I’m a sucker for a night sky! Thank you as always for visiting me, I do appreciate you taking the time. I will be back on Friday with a video for you, until then, I wish you a happy week. Keep crafting!
