Happy Sunday (or maybe Monday?) to you all. Today I have a quick card for you featuring one of the new sets from the August release at My Favorite Things.
I coloured the images a few weeks back but hadn’t yet decided on a design for the card but today managed to grab a few hours to have a play.
The images are from Fluttering Friends and were coloured with Copics (YG11, YG13, BG11). It’s very basic colouring as the images have small colouring areas. They were then cut out with the coordinating die-namics.
To create the background, I took a panel of white Neenah cardstock and applied Tumbled Glass and Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink through the beautiful Captivating Mandala stencil using a Mini Round Ink Blending Tool.
I cut a small slit out of the stencilled panel and added some foam sheet onto the back of each of the two sections. These were adhered to the base card after I had added a small strip of grey cardstock to the base so that it appears within the gap. This adds a bit of additional interest to the overall design of the card and there is lots of dimension because the two panels are popped up.
I put the card into my MISTI and stamped the sentiment from the stamp set in Steel Grey Hybrid Ink. I then popped the butterfly and dragonfly on with foam tape. Lastly, I adhered a few sequins with Ranger Multi Medium Matte to give the card a little bit of bling.
And that finishes today’s card. Thank you as always for stopping by – it’s going to be a busy week on my blog this week as tomorrow I am part of an exciting blog hop celebrating friendship and this wonderful hobby of ours (lots of giveaways to be won!) and then we start the countdown to the Clearly Besotted September release.
