It seems to have been a while since I made a floral card and I have been coveting some Gina K Stamps for a few months now and thought today was the day to bring them out.
I began by stamping several leaves and three of the floral image onto Neenah cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. These were then coloured with Copics (numbers listed below). I toyed with doing three different colours for the main floral but in the end went with just the yellow as I knew it would go well with a grey background.
I fussy cut all the images and then played around with the arrangement. Once I was happy with it, I laid a small sheet of Press ‘n Seal over the top to pick them up and hold them in their final positions.
I used a rectangle die from Hero arts to cut some dark grey cardstock and matted it over a white base using DST.
The different parts of the image were adhered together at the back with glue (still with the Press ‘n Seal on the front holding it together) and then foam tape added for dimension. I removed the backing from the foam tape and then pressed the whole arrangement onto the base card. I could then remove the Press ‘n Seal and adhere any loose sections with glue.
Lastly, I took a couple of greetings from Gina K’s You Make Me Smile set and stamped them onto white cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black ink. These were trimmed to size and popped up with foam tape. A selection of different sized black sequins were added around the card for a bit of extra interest using Multi Medium Matte.
I took two Copic Spica pens (Black and Melon) and added little flecks of glitter onto the leaves and centres of the flowers. You can’t see it in the photos but it’s pretty in real life.
That finishes today’s card. I am taking some time off over the next few weeks so don’t anticipate sharing too many projects on my blog in that time. It has been a busy few weeks and I am having a few days away to recuperate and recharge my batteries! Thanks very much for visiting as always, and happy crafting!
Copics used: Leaves (YG03, YG09, G07), Flowers (Y00, Y02, Y08, Y19), Flower Centres (YR21, YR24, YR25)
