Owl I Want For Christmas….

8th November 2018

Hello there

Today’s card is one I whipped up quickly(ish) following a quick bout of colouring whilst taking part in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin.  This is a challenge that Kathy runs several times a year and all you need to do to join in is to colour for 10 minutes a day. I have been a bit hit and miss, as always, with keeping up, but yesterday I did colour these owls and today they flew onto a base card!

So here is today’s card.

The owls are from Clearly Besotted Christmas Hoot and they were released in October but I just didn’t get a chance to use them back then. So today they make their debut! They were stamped onto Neenah 80lb, Copic coloured and fussy cut (Copic numbers listed below). I then fussy cut them out but there are coordinating dies if you wish.

It’s very hard to see in the photos but I dry embossed the Clearly Besotted Snowflake Flurry stencil onto a small white panel and adhered that with DST onto my base card behind my window panel.  The window panel was die cut with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle and also the MFT Stitched Triple Peek a Boo die.

Before popping the window panel onto the base card with foam tape, I did stamp my sentiment from the Christmas Hoot set. Then all I needed to do was arrange my owls over the windows, add some sparkle to their hats, scarves etc and some glaze to their eyes.

I added three little dots after the sentiment as on the inside it reads “…. is you”. And will of course be handed to my beloved on Christmas Day – a bit cutesie but he won’t mind 🙂

It’s a simple looking card but the little extra details like the stencilling and shimmer and gloss kick it up a small notch. And let’s face it, time is running out!

Thanks for stopping by, not long now until the weekend. Hope you can get your crafting on!

Copics used: Owls (E49, E44,E43, E42, E41), Greys (C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, C0), Greens (YG17 ,YG13, YG01), Blues (B04, B02, B00), Reds (R39, RV29, R35)
