Hello there
Today is a fun day! Simon Says Stamp has got another new release – we have been spoiled this month! The new release is called You Are Loved and it is themed around love, encouragement, celebration and sympathy.
I was lucky enough to be sent a die as part of the release – it arrived this morning, so I got busy quickly! My card today features the Ornate Love die set. It does have a coordinating stamp set, but the dies are useful even as stand alone dies. I have to apologise for bad photos today – the light is truly awful even with a light box!
To begin, I worked on my background. I dropped several drops of three colours of Dr PH Martins liquid watercolor onto some Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock and liberally sprayed water over them to move them until that they all merged beautifully together. This was a little messy, so I mopped up any spare ink with a few more panels of cardstock (nice to have them ready for next time).
Next I ran an A2 panel through my Big Shot with the largest of the three heart dies, as well as a Hero Arts Rectangle Infinity Die, so it’s slightly smaller than my base. I then die cut the LOVE letters from Neenah 110lb so they are a little more sturdy and started to assemble my card. I used DST to adhere a portion of my watercolour background to my base card so that it would sit behind the heart and the top panel was then popped up on top with foam tape.
The words were adhered with wet adhesive or foam tape so they straddle the heart. I then white heat embossed a sentiment from SSS Big Thanks onto SSS black cardstock. This was also adhered down with foam tape. Lastly, I added a few sequins from Lucy’s cards to embellish.
I adore the shape of the heart (they can vary so much, but I LOVE really puffy rounded shaped hearts). And I really like the size of the LOVE letter dies – they are very impactful and would be great used horizontally as well.
That finishes today’s card, thank you for joining me. I hope you enjoy looking at the new release – Christmas is not far away and I’m sure there will be something lovely that Santa can pop in his sack for you. Until next time, happy crafting!

It’s beautiful Lisa and I love that the main card is so stark white with that pop of colour behind. So glad you’ve had a go with your Dr PhMartins and that you have some spare panels with the left over bits. Looking forward to seeing those in use later. Looks a great release. You can never have too many hearts in life! xx
