It’s the second day of the teasers for the Clearly Besotted January release and today I am showcasing the beautiful Apples & Pears stamp set. This is a large set and has a choice of two images for you to colour. Both are gorgeous, but today, I went with the apple image.
To create the card, I began by stamping the apples using Versafine ink onto Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock and then set about watercolouring it using Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolor paints. As always I worked in layers allowing each layer to dry in between. I set the panel aside to dry and worked on the rest of the card.
I took some Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and applied it through the Basic Diagonals stencil, which was released a few months ago. I focused my stencilling in the top right corner as I knew my image would sit in front of this. I trimmed the panel down with a SSS Stitched Rectangle.
I then took some SSS Fog cardstock and stamped a sentiment from the set in Versafine ink and used a MFT Fishtail Sentiment Strip die to cut it out. To assemble the card I adhered my stencilled panel onto a Fog card base with DST, added my Apples (which I had fussy cut – but there are coordinating dies available) with foam tape, so they are very dimensional and then finally I adhered my sentiment strip.
To finish I added some raindrops from Lucy’s cards. I like how this card turned out in the end, especially with the soft pink stripes behind – I normally do a blue background behind this sort of image and it was nice to change the colour slightly. Do hop over to visit my teamies to see what they have made for today – Stephanie, Keren and Michelle.
I will be back tomorrow with my third teaser, I hope you will join me and thank you for your visit. Happy crafting!
