Hello again friends, welcome back to the second day of the Clearly Besotted teasers for the May release. Today I have a card featuring the new Magical Plushies set. This is a larger set and there are an abundance of wonderful plushie images for you to choose from, all in different poses! I decided to go with a unicorn today. Of course I was tempted by the narwhal but I couldn’t do yet another sea themed card! Not yet anyway….. haha. There is also a really fun heart balloon stamp set and I couldn’t resist including that.
I began by masking off a section on the right hand side of a top folding Neenah 110lb base card. I placed my MFT Mini Cloud Edges stencil down onto it and blended Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink all the way from top to bottom. I’m loving this colour ink for skies at the moment.
I next stamped my images and coloured them with Copics (numbers listed below) and fussy cut them out but you will be able to get coordinating dies for them. I trimmed a panel of Neenah cardstock and popped this onto my base card with foam tape before adhering my images with wet adhesive and some foam tape to the right of the unicorn so that it sits flat on the card.
Of course I then realised that I hadn’t stamped my sentiment (sigh) and so I popped the whole card in the MISTI, making sure to remove the foam pad so that the sentiment would stamp properly. If I left the foam pad in place, as the card has dimension, the sentiment would not have stamped well at all. Ask me how I know! The sentiment is from Simple Script which was released recently and I thought it’s delicate font would look lovely with the floating unicorn! And of course, with heart shaped balloons it was a perfect fit.
To finish the card, I added a few Ice Crystal sequins around the images and some Tonic Nuvo Aqua Shimmer and some Tonic Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the balloons and horn. I also added a little Sakura Black Glaze Gel Pen to the unicorn’s eyes so they have a wee bit of dimension.
This card can be used for all sorts of occasions – birthday, Valentines Day, a general hello, sending love kind of card and who can resist that sweet little unicorn. I can’t!
