Hello there and welcome back friends. Today we start the countdown teasers for the Clearly Besotted June release. Can we just pause a moment and re-read that word. June. Yes. June! It doesn’t seem that long since Christmas and I’ll need to start making those cards soon. Ha ha! But I digress – back to the release. It’s a super cute one!
For all you flower lovers out there, there is a new stamp coming called Pick A Peony and that is what I have chosen to showcase today. It’s no secret I love to make floral cards, and there are two images to pick from – I was spoilt for choice as they are both gorgeous.
So here is today’s card.
So, a lot of colouring in this one and I began with that. The image was stamped twice onto Neenah using black ink and then coloured with Copics (numbers are listed below). I fussy cut them out but there will be coordinating dies if you prefer to use those.
I took a panel of white cardstock and stamped my sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink. The sentiment is from Simply Said – another new set coming in June which is full of year-round occasion greetings. I like the style of this set – two different fonts used on each greeting. Next I took the Basic Spots stencil and blended SSS Fog Ink over the top and bottom parts of the panel. I made sure to focus only on the areas that would be behind the images once they were added and kept the central sentiment area completely free.
The panel was added to a base card with DST and the peony images popped up with foam tape. I added some Tonic Nuvo Aqua Shimmer to the floral images and a few Raindrops from Lucy’s cards to embellish.
A simple design but the stencilled dots add some extra interest without detracting too much from the flowers. Thank you for spending time with me today. Do hop over to see what Stephanie, Michelle and Keren have in store for you. I’m looking foward to seeing their cards. See you tomorrow, have a great day folks!
Copics used: Flowers (R24, R22, R02, R11), Blue Leaves (BG11, BG23), Centre (Y02, Y08), Green Leaves (YG01, YG03, YG25)
