Hello everybody, I hope you are all well. If you came to my blog yesterday you would have seen that this month I am Guest Designing for My Favorite Things during the month of September and as well as taking part in yesterday’s MFT & Friends, I am also making cards for the Weekly Sketch Challenge. So much fun! This week’s sketch is below.
And this is my take on the sketch.
I kept my card primarily the same as the sketch and decided to ink up the Sweater Weather In The Woods set. What a lovely set this is – and there is another version which includes safari animals in sweaters – also great fun! Anyway, I digress. This card was pretty easy to pull together once I had decided on the different elements to make the design. The critters were stamped, coloured with Copics (numbers listed below), die cut with the coordinating dienamics and set to one side.
I added a panel of Grout Gray cardstock onto a white base card with DST as I wanted a neutral background. I then trimmed a panel of Neenah 80 cardstock and adhered that onto the grout panel. I die cut three circular frames using the MFT Circle Stax Sets 1 and 2 and set them to one side. For the sentiment I used Gravel Gray cardstock and white heat embossed a sentiment from the set. I also set this to one side.
To pull the card together, I first adhered my sentiment to the white panel. I then took the three circles and grouped them together, adding a little wet adhesive here and there to keep them together. I then placed them down onto the panel and popped the moose and fox on top. The critters have foam tape on the back and this also helps to secure the circular frames in place.
Lastly, I added the owl to the side and a few raindrops from Lucy’s cards. And that finishes my card for today. The sketch challenge takes place every Wednesday over on the MFT Blog and there is a chance to win a $50 giftcard to the store if you enter, so that’s got to be worth a try hasn’t it! I’ll be back next week with my next sketch challenge card. Until then, happy crafting!
