Hello there friends, I am back with my second card for the Clearly Besotted October release countdown teasers. Today’s card features a set called Sing It’s Christmas. Too much fun! Little carolling cats with festive sentiments such as “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…”. And it certainly is!
I began by stamping and colouring the singing cats and the lamppost with Copics (colours listed below). I then fussy cut them out and set them to one side to work on my background. For this I took a panel of Neenah 80lb and blended Distress Inks from top to bottom, making sure to leave a section at the bottom white to look like snow. I used Peacock Feathers, Broken China and Tumbled Glass. This panel was then cut with the largest of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Stackables. To get that snowfall look, I put the panel in my spray box and added two generous spritzes of Sparkle Shimmer Spritz and then a couple of sprays of Ranger Distress Spray Stain Picket Fence. What a lovely combination this is for a background.
Once dry, I stamped a greeting from Sing It’s Christmas at the bottom of the background panel and then adhered it to a base card using DST. The lamppost was adhered with wet adhesive and the singers popped up with foam tape. I then decided it would be fun to include some extra sentiments from the set in speech bubbles. For this I took the speech bubble stamps from Pop Up Psst, stamped them with Versamark Ink onto black cardstock and added white embossing powder before heat setting. Next I took 3 sentiments from Sing It’s Christmas, stamped them into the bubbles and again applied white powder and heat set. These were fussy cut and popped up with foam tape.
To finish the card I added some extra snow in with a white gel pen, some Sakura Black Glaze pen to the eyes, and some Tonic Nuvo Aqua Shimmer onto the hats, scarves and parts of the lamppost. Do make sure to hop over to visit Stephanie, Michelle, Keren and our guest designer for this month Joy, to see what they have made. I will see you tomorrow, thanks as always for stopping by.
