Hi everyone, I am back over on the Foiled Fox Blog today with some more festive fun in the form of these two cuties from MFT Festive Friends. I just adore this little snowman and reindeer image, it reminds me of days gone by when we all used to get tangled up putting the lights on the tree. And of course, finding out when we did the grand “switch on” that a few of the lights had bitten the dust since their last outing. And I am sure you know exactly what I mean! So today’s card features some simple Copic colouring and a little bit of glimmer paste. It’s Christmas so there is no restriction on sparklyness.
I began by doing the background so it would have time to dry and simply took a panel of MFT Grout Gray cardstock, the MFT Snow Flurry stencil and my trusty Nuvo Glimmer Paste (Moonstone). Using a palette knife, I applied the paste through the stencil and left it to dry. It doesn’t take long at all, it was dry by the time I had finished colouring my image.
I stamped the image, coloured it with Copics and then cut it with the coordinating dienamics. And then I took the snow banks and trees from MFT Snowy Scene Builder and die cut those from white and green cardstock. At this point, I remembered to stamp my sentiment (from the Festive Friends set) before I had assembled the whole card!
The snowy panel was trimmed to mat onto an A2 horizontal top folding card and then the snow banks adhered on top. No dimension at this stage, I wanted to keep the card as flat as possible for mailing. The trees were also adhered flat but I did pop some foam tape onto the back of the image so there is a little dimension (I am hopeless at flat cards!)
To finish up, I added some shimmer onto the hats, scarves, boots and mittens for an extra dose of sparkle. And no reindeer nose would be complete without some shine so that was added with a little dab of Nuvo Crystal Glaze and left to dry. Such a sweet set, there are lots of other images to play with too, you can have them throwing snowballs at each other too if you use the MFT Launch Party Dienamics – great fun! I will be back soon with another card for you featuring the set that I used a week or so ago – Merry Moments.
