Hello friends! Today I have a card using one of the recently released Christmas sets from Clearly Besotted called Festive Fairies. I didn’t get a chance to make a card with this during the release period, but these adorable fairies were far too cute to be left unstamped for too long!
So today, I have a little magical night time scene for you. I am always tempted to do a pink/blue/purple background with fairies, but this time I thought I would have them flying around during the night. Maybe they should be tucked up in bed, but even fairies like to be a little naughty sometimes.
To start with, I blended Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans and Stormy Sky Distress Inks over a square panel of Neenah. I then spritzed some shimmer spray over it, dried it with a heat gun and then splattered a few drops of white gouache over that and left it to dry. I stamped two of the fairies and the tree from Festive Fairies onto Neenah using Memento ink and then coloured them with Copics. I fussy cut them out and set them to one side.
I took another panel of Neenah and die cut the scalloped edge using one of my favourite dies from Mama Elephant Creative Cuts Basic Set. And then I ran it through the die cutting machine again using a circle from MFT Circle Stax 2. Whilst the machine was out I also die cut a snow bank using MFT Stitched Snow Drifts.
To assemble the card I created a red base using SSS Lipstick Red cardstock. I adhered the snow bank to the back of the window panel and set that to one side. The night sky panel was glued onto the base using wet adhesive and the window panel on top. The card is completely flat as I am trying to save on postage!
All that was left was to pop the fairies on. I did stamp my sentiment onto the window panel before it went onto the card – and this stamp is also from the Festive Fairies set. Such a sweet set, and another card ready to go. I’m almost there! Thank you as always for stopping by, I hope you have a great day.
