Hello everyone, today I am back with a card to celebrate the start of DieCember over at Simon Says Stamp – yay! DieCember is my second favourite time of the year (after STAMPtember) at Simon Says Stamp and I spend the whole month wishing I’d won the lottery! I cannot wait to see what they have in store for us this month, but for today I am kicking off the celebrations with a super die called Thank You, created by CZ Design for Simon Says Stamp.
Cathy Zielske has been creating stamps and dies for Simon Says Stamp for a couple of years now, and they always have a really cool vibe. Clean, modern, contemporary fonts are her thing and this die incorporates all of those elements. I thought I would pair it with the super pretty Marilyn Cover die for today’s card.
So to start, I die cut the Marilyn die from Neenah 80lb cardstock. As it is an intricate die, I used a metal shim and ran it through my Gemini Junior a few times and it cut perfectly. I ink blended Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple Distress Oxides from top to bottom and then spritzed some Sparkle Shimmer Spray over it. I left it to dry and worked on the other elements.
The Thank You die comes with a shadow die to sit behind the two separate words. So I die cut those out with SSS Black cardstock and Neenah 80lb cardstock. I sprayed the back of the two words with adhesive and pressed them down onto the black cardstock, running my bone folder over them to make sure they were adhered as well as could be.
Once the blended panel was dry, this was adhered to a base card, again with spray adhesive and the Thank You popped up with foam tape. Next I stamped a sentiment from Big Thanks onto SSS Doll Pink cardstock using Versamark ink and applied HA White Detail embossing powder to it. I heat set it, trimmed it with SSS Sentiment Label Dies and added foam tape to the back.
To finish, I added a few Crystal Circles from Lucy’s Cards for some extra bling. You know I love this cover die and have used it many times, and I love bright colours, so I was really happy with how this card came out as I think the pop of black and white works really well against the background.
Thank you SO much for visiting, I really do appreciate you stopping by and leaving me a comment. They always make my day! I will be back soon with another card for you using this set. Have a great day!

I keep calling it the Madilyn die instead of Marilyn and i still love it. One of my favorites. I made it into a stencil. I use it for everything. And Cathy’s work is just amazing. I’m a fan.
And then there’s you. I want to be YOU when I grow up as an artist.
