Hello there friends! I am back today with a second card featuring the CZ Design/SSS Thank You die that has recently been released as part of Simon Says Stamp’s Diecember event. For this card, I thought I would do a little stencilling as it’s been a while since I stencilled a whole panel on a card!
To start off, I took the SSS Heart Mandala Stencil and sprayed it with some Pixie Spray. This is a temporary repositionable spray adhesive and I have been dying to try it out. You need to leave the Pixie Spray for about a minute and then it becomes tacky. You can then lay it down on your cardstock and all being well it won’t shift again until you are ready to move it. By and large it worked, but I did also tape it down just to make sure it didn’t move (force of habit). I always find with intricate stencils, using a spray temporary adhesive is a good idea as it helps prevent ink from getting underneath the tiny pieces that may not lay flat. I did get a little residue on my card but think I may have oversprayed the stencil as I did do it a few times – it’s all a learning experience!
I took a mini ink blending tool and blended Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, Abandoned Coral and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide inks across the white cardstock panel and then I removed the stencil.
Next I die cut the “Thank You” from Neenah 110 and stacked it onto some pink cardstock which had been cut with the shadow die from the same set. I popped some foam tape on the back and then just added a few sequins from Lucy’s cards dotted around the sentiment to finish it off.
I will trim that tiny bit of white off the bottom and side before it goes out – I just didn’t notice this until after I had taken the photo! I hope you have a great day and have enjoyed seeing all the inspiration from DieCember so far. I am sure there will be lots more to come from all the fabulous designers throughout the month. Until next time, happy crafting and thanks for stopping by.
