Hello there!
Thanks to everyone who sent messages when we moved house. We are now entering our third week of living here, still have lots of boxes around and a whole host of niggly things wrong in the house that need fixing. BUT, we LOVE it here and it will all get sorted soon. My craft room sadly is going to take longer than I hoped, but as I was a little bit organised prior to the move, I do have a post for you today that I created a few weeks before Christmas!
So, I have five cards to share with you using the Concord & 9th Wreath Turnabout set. I realised just before Christmas that my stash of birthday cards was really low and with a craft room out of action for at least 6 weeks due to the move house, I thought I had better get some cards together quickly. When I say quick, nothing is ever really quick with me but this turnabout stamp certainly does help speed up the process.
So here are the five cards that I made. I have to apologise for the photos. It has pretty much rained every day here in the UK for over 3 months which makes it really hard taking photos, especially when you can’t wait days to get blog posts done!
I won’t talk about each card in detail as the process is the same for all of them, but I will list the colour combinations and sentiments that I have used on each one. For all cards, I used the MISTI to help me with stamping and I set my stamp and MISTI up as I would do for any turnabout stamp. And I used Distress Oxides which are great for stamping with. I did sometimes double stamp if I didn’t get great coverage but mostly I only needed to single stamp.
My first card above uses Shaded Lilac, Blueprint Sketch, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers Oxides. For the sentiment I used SSS You Matter stamp set and the SSS You die. The panel was cut with a die from Mama Elephant Creative Cuts Basic Set. I think this one is my favourite of all five.
My second card uses Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers. The Celebrate die is from Neat & Tangled and I used the same Mama Elephant die for the panel as I did in my first card. The Celebrate sentiment is added onto vellum and popped up so there is a little dimension. I really loved the colour combinatin in this one, so summery. I miss summer!
The third card is much more autumnal. I used Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple, Wild Honey and Aged Mahogany. There are just so many combinations you can try out and I loved experimenting with my inks. For this card I used a sentiment from Clearly Besotted Simply Said Birthday. I kept it plain and just die cut the panel with a HA Rectangle Infinity die and mounted it onto SSS Fog Cardstock.
On the fourth card, I wanted to find a way of including a colour that I don’t use often. So I used Iced Spruce and teamed it with three different pinks – Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar. I always love the look of pink and grey together. The sentiment is from SSS Happy.
For the final card, I went back to brights and this time used Lucky Clover, Salty Ocean, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers. The sentiment is the Lawn Fawn Happy Birthday Border, with the “to you” chopped off the end so that I could fit it on a portrait panel.
I absolutely love this wreath turnabout set – I think it’s one of the prettiest sets they have released as a turnabout and I am so happy I picked it up. There is another image in the set, that creates a more simple round wreath and I look forward to using that. Thanks for stopping by today. I will be back with a post for you next month – a few more birthday cards! Wishing you all a great day. Lisa xx

Fantastic wreath cards, love all the different combinations of colour that you’ve used, such different looks from one stamp set. Glad the move went ok & that you are getting there with the boxes, thought of you last weekend when I found an unpacked box under the stairs from 7 yrs ago lol.
