It’s like the buses here today! I have a second card for you a little later! Sympathy cards are always the hardest cards to make aren’t they. And I never have one to hand when I need it. Fortunately, Simon Says Stamp has a new release out today called Crafty Hugs and it is all about being there for others, offering support and of course sending crafty hugs to those we love. I received a pack of sentiment strips called Reverse Sympathy which focus on all of the above so I thought I would go ahead and make a sympathy card today. I almost always do florals for sympathy cards so I reached for my SSS Beautiful Flowers set and off I went.
- Take a panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock and stamp the image using Antique Linen Distress Ink. This is a great ink for no line colouring as the lines fade away under your chosen medium once you start to colour. I did use a MISTI as I stamped the image a couple of times – my eyes are not what they used to be!
- Colour with Zigs – I used Sugared Almond Pink, Pale Rose and Deep Red for the flowers. Mid Green and Olive Green for the leaves and stems. Light Brown and Brown for the flower centres and finally the beautiful Blue Gray for my shadow. Blue Gray is a gorgeous colour and looks fab with so many other colours.
- Simply cut one of the sentiment strips from the pack and adhere it to your panel. These strips are great – so easy and so much better than when I heat emboss a sentiment as I almost always get a little stray bit of white on my cardstock!
- Mount the finished panel onto a Neenah 110lb A2 top folding card.
So this is now safely stored in my stash for when I need it the most. And I won’t have to create one in a hurry. I am looking forward to seeing what else is in the new release, it’s always guaranteed to be fabulous! Have a wonderful day everyone and I will be back tomorrow with another project for you.
