Good morning friends! Today I am back with a second card for you featuring the Detail Petal Plate die from yesterday’s fantastic Let’s Connect release from Simon Says Stamp. And for today’s card I went with florals again – they seemed to fit with the theme of the die but really this die can be used for any occasion. It’s very versatile and can definitely hold its own as the main feature of the card.
I began by running the cover plate through the Gemini Junior with some SSS Fog cardstock. I did use the metal shim as I did yesterday, to ensure that my dots all pierced evenly through the cardstock. I then took the SSS Stitched Rectangles set, and die cut a panel from vellum which I used as a backdrop for my roses. I love how you can see the subtle detail of the plate through the vellum.
Next I grabbed the SSS Single Roses die set which has not had an airing in about 3 years(!) and die cut the roses and leaves from Neenah 80lb cardstock. I did some very basic colouring on the die cuts with Copics. (The numbers are listed at the end of the blog post if you are interested). I faffed around for about a decade lol trying to decide on my floral arrangement and then adhered them down onto the vellum using teeny tiny dots of Multi Medium Matte that wouldn’t seep out from underneath.
To adhere the vellum to the fog panel, I once again used tiny dots on the back of the vellum, behind the roses and leaves, so you don’t see them. I added a few Ice Crystal sequins from Lucy’s Cards and then set to work on my sentiment. Both of the greetings come from SSS Tiny Words and have been stamped with black ink onto SSS Smoke cardstock, just to add a bit of a darker contrast to the Fog panel. And that finished the card! When I came to photograph it, a couple of the edges from the vellum had lifted so I very carefully added tiny dots of adhesive in the top left and bottom right so that it sits flat on the base. You can’t see them as the stitching hides them!
Thank you as always for stopping by, I appreciate you all so much and hope you are having a wonderful day! Happy crafting!
Copics used: G21, YG63, G94, E00, R12, R32

Another beautiful card, Lisa! Those sketchy blooms are so pretty and work wonderfully with the background. I really like how you added the panel of vellum to soften it and how you have coloured the blooms, they look watercoloured. So pretty! xx
