Hello everyone, I hope you are all well. If you celebrate Christmas, then I hope that you had a good break, despite these strange times we find ourselves in. And let’s face it, it’s never much of a break what with all the food sorting, clearing up etc! A 24-hour cycle on repeat. Ours was a rather smaller affair than normal – just four of us, but it saves on the washing up at least! If you don’t celebrate Christmas, then I hope that you have at least had a few days rest.
So today marks the start of the countdown teasers for the January release from Clearly Besotted. From now until 1st January, I, and the rest of the design team, will be sharing our creations with you. Are you in the mood for love? I hope so, because this month’s release is all about that. I am starting the teasers with a snarky cat. She is a cat after my own heart!
If you loved the grumpy sheep that were released a few months ago, then you are going to love this grumpy cat set which is aptly named Purrfect Valentine. I paired this evil eyed feline with a sentiment from a new sentiment set called Laugh Out Loud Love. That sentiment is so funny and there are lots to chose from! It is definitely one that I should remember as I am sure there are moments when I am going to want to quote it haha. Anyhow, I did my usual and stamped a bunch of images from the set onto Neenah and then I coloured them with Copics and fussy cut them out.
I took another panel of white cardstock and ran it through the Gemini with a MFT Stitched Scallop Basic Edge die and set it to one side. I then took some red and pink cardstock scraps and cut them into thin strips and adhered them to a piece of printer paper that was the same width as my card base.
To assemble the card, I attached the pink/red strips panel onto a base card and then added foam tape onto the back of the stitched border panel and popped it over the top. I actually remembered to stamp the sentiment on first which makes life a lot easier! I then arranged my images in a little group and either adhered them with Multi Medium Matte or foam tape. I added some white gel pen for accents.
To finish the card, I took a sentiment from a new set called Gnome One Like You (you will see a card with this sweet set tomorrow!), and stamped it with Versamark onto black cardstock, applied white detail embossing powder and heat set. I then took the stitched speech bubble stamp from Pop Up Psst and repeated the process to finish the bubble. I trimmed it out and added it with foam tape.
And that finished my card. As you’d expect there are a whole load of snarky sentiments in the Purrfect Valentine set. My personal favourite is “put a ring on it”. But I couldn’t get it to work with my design – another time maybe! And I am betting that you are now singing the infamous Beyonce song… I am. Before you head off, don’t forget to hop over to the Clearly Besotted Blog and then onto Keren and Michelle to see what they have in store for you.
