Hello again friends! Today I have my final Clearly Besotted countdown teaser to share with you. The new release goes live tomorrow (1st January) at 8pm GMT but I will be back tomorrow with a release day post for you containing a reminder of my cards and links to all the fabulous new products.
In the meantime, I have a quick and clean and simple card for you using a new set called Key To My Heart. Well that’s how it looks as an observer, but trust me, no card is quick in my craft room. I dilly dally and am full of indecision on most cards!
As you will see, this card contains a titchy little scene! I have to confess I was running a bit short of time and so I thought I would condense the scene. Unfortunately for me, this took longer than most of my other cards this month – I have no idea why. Well I have a bit of an idea, more about that later. Little scenes I find quite hard (like tags) – it’s just the way it is.
For this card, I took the smaller of the Taylored Expressions Rectangle Masking stencils and taped it down over some Neenah 80lb cardstock. I blended Stormy Sky down from the top and then Mowed Lawn up from the bottom, fading them out towards the middle. I placed the Freshly Cut Stencil over the top of the rectangle stencil and added some more Mowed Lawn Distress Ink . You don’t see much of the grass and that is probably why this took me a while. Working out how to include my images whilst not covering my small row of grass haha!
With the masks still in place, I smooshed the Stormy Sky Ink pad down onto my glass media mat, added a little bit of water and then splattered some drops in the sky area. I thought this would just add a bit more interest as I had only used one colour in my sky. I think a few more might have worked better.
I then stamped two of the images from Key To My Heart, coloured them with Copics and fussy cut them out.
To finish the card, I removed all the masks before running the inked panel through the Gemini with the largest die from Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles Stackables. Again, to add a bit more interest to a very CAS card. The balloons were adhered flat onto the panel and the little skunk with his padlock were popped up with foam tape.
I stamped a sentiment from the set using Versafine Onyx Black Ink and then added the whole panel to a top folding 110lb base card using double sided tape. Finally I added a few white gel accents onto the balloons and some black glaze pen to the nose and eye of the skunk.
Thank you so much for your company this week – I hope that you have enjoyed the countdown teasers. For more inspiratioin using the new sets, do pop over to the Clearly Besotted Blog and then onto my fabulous teamies, Michelle and Keren. I will be back tomorrow with the release day post, I hope you will join me then.

Your design is fabulous, and love how cute they have all been so far. Looking forward to seeing your collection side by side tomorrow. By the way you are not alone in cards taking a while no matter the size & style. I must spend more time fiddling about & changing things than I do actually making the card.x
