Good morning crafty friends, welcome back to day two of the countdown teasers for the Clearly Besotted April release. For today’s card, I picked the stamp set called Look For Rainbows – this set is so fun, it features six different turtles holding umbrreallas, a little rain/tree scene stamp and some accent stamps. I took three of the turtles for my card today.
To start off, I picked a Taylored Expressions stencil that I hadn’t used before which has three horizontal 1″ stripes and thought it would be fun to use it with this set. So with that in mind, I then picked three of the turtle images that would fit with the design. I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto white cardstock, coloured them with Copics and fussy cut them out.
For my background, I took the TE Rectangle Masking Stencil and adhered that to my card panel. I then took the TE 1″ Stripe stencil and placed that over the top. Clearly Besotted have a few stencils that would work well for this type of design, Tiled It Again and Building Blocks spring to mind as good options. Using blending brushes, I blended Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo, Wild Honey, Dried Marigold and Scattered Straw Distress Oxides though each strip, varying the direction/placement of each colour as I went.
I removed the masks and popped the panel into the MISTI. I took 3 sentiments from the set and stamped them using Versafine Clair Nocturne and then I popped up my turtles with foam tape. The whole panel was adhered onto a top folding base card before I added a little bit of Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle onto the umbrellas.
Make sure to check out the inspiration from the Clearly Besotted blog, Michelle, Keren and our two guest designers Kitty and Francine. I am looking forward to seeing what they have made! Until tomorrow, happy crafting!
