Hello there, and welcome to the second day of the countdown teasers. The new release from Clearly Besotted will go live on 5th May but in the meantime, the design team have lots to share with you! For today’s card I am using a set called Supermarket Sweep. Supermarket Sweep was a show that was aired many many years ago here in the UK. From memory, a very distant foggy memory, participants would answer questions and win money as they went through the show and then at the end they would have a sum of money to spend in the supermarket. The fun bit was that the winner only had a small amount of time to spend the money (maybe 2 or 3 minutes?), so they would run around the supermarket with their trolley, like a headless chicken, trying to collect the most expensive items they could find. I think they lost any money they didn’t spend! It was good fun. I’d have gone for the steak, fish and cheese sections. I am not sure but I think they weren’t allowed to buy alcohol – or that would have been the obvious choice and very easy to spend a large windfall there!
Anyway, here is my card! I went for a slimline card today. And when it came to photographing it, I regretted it immediately. They are notoriously difficult to photograph, but I did like how it turned out!
I started off by die cutting the scalloped bottom layer from Lawn Fawn Mermaid cardstock. I used the PFS Scallop Frames Die set for all my layers. I then took the rectangle from the set and die cut this twice from white cardstock. Next I took one of the white panels and the small circle die and cut three windows. I placed the window panel down over the other white panel and made feint pencil lines where the openings were. I then took Altenew Dew Drops ink and some blending brushes and blended the ink so it would show behind each window – darker at the top and fading out towards the bottom of each circle. It just adds interest and contrast to the white behind.
All of my images were stamped onto Neenah 80lb cardstock, coloured with Copics and fussy cut. When planning the card I had taken a photo of where all the different stamps would appear on the final card, so it was easy to adhere them down at this point. And rather than stick them on straight, I thought jaunty angles would be a bit more fun! I took some sentiments from the set and they were just stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto Neenah 110lb cardstock, trimmed, and popped up with foam tape.
To finish the card, I added a little black glaze pen to their eyes and called it done. As you can see from my final result, toilet paper was a priority, it must have been a time of lockdown! Before you go, make sure to head over to the Clearly Besotted Blog, Keren, Michelle, Adelle and Francine to see what they have made for today! I’ll be back tomorrow with something for all you avid readers out there. See you tomorrow!

Ah we are big fans of Supermarket Sweep when it’s on. The repeats, or even the new version. Yes there is a new version! I kid you not….. This is super funny, plus I LOVE the toilet rolls all stacked up. Remember those days or bulk buying bog roll. Seems like only last year…. 😉

Bwahahaha!! Our US friends are going to wonder what we’re both talking about. So funny that we thought EXACTLY the same. I love how different it looks in 3 portions on the slimline with the beautiful blended backgrounds- Just fabulous! x
