Well, that’s a bit of a rude headline isn’t it, and there are definitely times when I have wanted to say it! It’s hard to believe my two pals on the card would have had this kind of exchange! Today it is hump day in terms of the Clearly Besotted countdown teasers – we are halfway through and today my card features a lovely set called Book Smart.
Isn’t this just such a sweet scene. You have lots of critters to chose from, as always, and some sentiments which are just so fun! I fancied doing a bit of watercolouring for today’s card so I picked out a few of the images and laid them out to see what needed masking first. In the end, not much masking so I breathed a sigh of relief! I used Tim Holtz Distress Watercolour cardstock (the smoother side) and first up, I stamped the fox and log with leaves using Versafine Onyx Black Ink as it is a waterproof ink. I masked off the fox and then stamped the trunk below him. I then took the little bird and just stamped it so it was standing on top of the log.
The scene was watercoloured with Distress Inks. I always wondered what the heck I would use Rusty Hinge for – well let me tell you, it’s the perfect colour for a fox, so I am glad it has a place in my collection of inks despite me thinking it was a total waste of money! But you know, full set syndrome is a thing for sure. Once all the watercolouring was dry, I took a Hero Arts Rectangle Infinity die and ran it through my die cutting machine. I popped the panel into the MISTI as I remembered I needed to add the sentiment before putting foam tape onto the back! The sweet and funny sentiment was stamped using Versafine Onyx Black Ink and then I added the panel to a SSS Fog Gray card base. I added some black glaze pen to the eyes and remembered to put this card to one side so I don’t smudge it. So often I have ruined the card by forgetting to put it out of arms reach!
I really love this sweet set and I so hope I get time to use it again. I have lots of friends that read and so it would be perfect to just stamp one of the images, colour it and pop a sentiment on for a clean and simple quick card. Until then, have a great day!

I love that you’ve watercoloured the scene- and yes, I felt the sentiment was bordering on rude- but it’s the sort of thing I’d LIKE to say quite often!! Fabulous card! x
