If you visited my blog yesterday you will know that today’s card is all about bees! But first, the important stuff. Today is release day, the sets will be available to purchase at 8pm BST at Clearly Besotted, Simon Says Stamp, Art Creatiu and Card Nouveau. There is a release bundle available at the Clearly Besotted store and this includes a discount if you buy the whole release plus some freebies. All sets are linked below for you to take a better look and I hope that you see something that takes your fancy. And most importantly, that you have enjoyed seeing all the teasers this month.
So, today’s card features a set called Spelling Bee. This is perfect for anyone who has children returning to school after lockdown, or at the start of a new term etc. I went classically bright for my card today. Put your sunglasses on, you have been warned!
Nothing fancy schmancy about the card. The images were coloured with Copics and fussy cut. I toyed around for what seemed like forever to decide where to place them in my hexagon. In the end I changed the bee image I had originally coloured to the one that you see, which worked much better!
The background was created by taking a piece of white cardstock and the Cloudy Days stencil. I blended Wild Honey Distress Ink from the top to the bottom, keeping it quite light as I wanted my images to be the focal point.
I then adhered the cloud panel to a base card. I took some SSS Sunshine cardstock and a Honey Bee hexagon die and ran it through my Big Shot. I adhered it over the cloud background, leaving a little gap so I could slide my branch in before securing it down. The sentiment is from the set and I thought I’d make it a big and bold one, right across the panel. I popped the little bee up just hanging over it slightly and added some black glaze to his eyes. The “bee safe” sentiment is also from the set.
Before it’s time to hit the shops, I hope that you will head over to the Clearly Besotted blog, and onto Keren, Michelle, Adelle and Francine for their last teasers. Here is a reminder of my teasers for this release.
Thank you for joining me for the teasers this week. I’ll be back with another card for you soon, in the meantime happy crafting!
