Hello everyone, welcome to the Clearly Besotted Countdown Teasers. This month, you may have noticed, we are a little later than normal with our teasers. Some changes to manufacturing processes meant that we are now combining the July and August releases into one big mega release! Release day has changed and will now be on the 22nd July, but until then, myself, the rest of the Design Team and our fabulous guests have lots of inspiration to share with you.
So let’s get started with the first card. This adorable set is called Ice Ice Plushies. And I’m betting that you are singing that infamous song right now!
It’s a full on scene today and no white space on the card! I go from one extreme to another. I started by creating my background panel. For this I used a couple of stencils – one that is new to me and one older favourite. I took my panel of 80lb white cardstock and placed the Over The Hill Stencil down over the top. I secured it from the back using Frog Tape and then using blending brushes, I blended Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Oxides to create the grass area. I then shifted the stencil so that the trees would sit on top of the grass line. For this part I blended Rustic Wilderness, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Oxides down from the top of the trees.
Now, I got a bit lazy here. I could have made a mask from the trees section of the Over The Hill Stencil, but I decided I would chance adding my clouds without a mask! I took the Cloudy Day Stencil and blended Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide down from the top, moving the stencil left and right as I went and flipping it over too, so there is some variation in the clouds. When I got near to the trees, I just switched to a smaller blending brush and blended the clouds in between the trees. Fortunately it worked out ok! Using a Hero Arts Nesting Infinity Rectangle die, I trimmed the panel down so it would mat onto a top folding A2 base card.
Using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and my MISTI, I stamped several of the images from Ice Ice Plushies, as well as two birds from an older set called Book Smart, onto Neenah 80lb cardstock. I coloured them with Copics and then fussy cut them out.
I arranged them over the panel and temporarily taped them into place once I was happy with the layout. I then added wet adhesive or foam tape to adhere them to the background panel. I put some foam sheet onto the back of the completed panel and added it to the base card. To finish I stamped a greeting from Ice Ice Plushies onto black cardstock using Versamark Ink. I added Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and heat set before trimming it out. This was also added with foam tape for a little bit of dimension.
That finishes my card but the Design Team and our guests have LOTS more to share with you, so before you head off, do pop over to the Clearly Besotted blog, Michelle, Keren and our guests, Francine, Mona (Instagram) and Alberto (Instagram only). I’ll see you tomorrow with my cocktail shaker! Until then, I hope that you have a great day! Thank you for stopping by.
