Yesterday I said that I thought the Winter Woodland set was my favourite of this month’s release, but it may well have been upstaged by Sulking Santa! It’s a tough call as to which set tops my list. If you are a lover of Clearly Besotted stamps then you will know that they bring out the occasional set of grumpy characters and they are all hilarious! I can definitely relate to Santa the older I get! So, here is today’s card.
This one did take a bit of planning as there are quite a lot of elements to it. I thought it would be fun to have a two window mini slimline card for this set. And I found the perfect wood trees die in the Picket Fence Studios Slim Line Die Cutting System die set. So I took a panel of white cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine first with the smaller scalloped frame from PFS SLDCS Mini Slim Line Stitched and Scalloped Rectangles. And then twice with the wood trees die.
Next I took some Hero Hues Arctic cardstock (as this would match my patterned paper) and I ran that through my machine with the larger of the scalloped dies from PFS SLCDS Mini Slimline die set. I placed the window panel over the top and drew feint lines around the two windows. I then took the MFT Christmas Cheer patterned paper pack and cut two small squares of the blue snowfall paper and adhered those down using my pencil lines as a guide. I then die cut a couple of snow banks using MFT Stitched Snow Drifts and added those to the back of the trees
I stamped four of the critters from Sulking Santa onto white cardstock using Copic friendly ink and then I coloured them before fussy cutting them out. The Copic colours are listed below. I added foam tape to all four of them and set them to one side.
Next I took a couple of sentiments from the set and stamped them onto white cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I grabbed the Chitter Chatter sentiment set and stamped the speech bubbles around them and fussy cut them out. I also added some foam tape to the back of those.
To assemble the card, I created a 110lb white card base measuring 6.25″ x 3.75″ and adhered the first scalloped panel down using MFT On-Point Precision Glue. I then added the window panel on top, again using wet adhesive. The images and sentiments were then popped on top.
To finish, I added a little bit of Tonic Nuvo Aqua Shimmer to the hats, list and sack. And there you have it, a super fun Christmas card and I know exactly who I will be sending it to! I’ll be back tomorrow with another teaser for you, but in the meantime, I hope you have a great day.
