Hello again! Thank you for being here, you are very appreciated! Today is the fourth day of teasers for the Clearly Besotted December 2021 release and I am getting crabby! Let’s face it, for those that know, that’s not that unusual at this time of year. Maybe I should say getting even crabbier than usual. I have a card that is perfect for those who feel the strain of getting *all the things* done for that special day in December.

My card today features the soon to be released set called Santa Claws. It is a fabulous set, full of crabby crustaceans and a cute background sea scene.
For my background I first taped a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock to the back of the Taylored Expressions Rectangle Mask Stencil. I then took the Deep Dive Stencil and placed that over the top. Using blending brushes, I created the top wave with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide. I then moved the stencil down and created the second wave with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide. All the stencils were removed and the panel set to one side.
I took the sweet sea scene and two of the crabs and stamped them onto white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. They were all coloured with Copics and fussy cut out.
I popped the wave panel into the MISTI and stamped a sentiment from the set using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I then added that flat to a top folding A2 notecard. The sea scene and crabs were added on top with foam tape.
At the time of colouring, I had in my mind that they were lobsters and I had hoped they would be more of a red colour, but they ended up being quite a vibrant pinky/red! As I have said many times, cardmaking is not about reality, it’s all about what’s in your head. That’s if you have any space to have any more thoughts in there at this time of year!
Tomorrow is release day, so not long to wait until you can get your hands on any of the sets that need to find a home with you. Before you go, don’t forget to be inspired by visiting the Clearly Besotted blog, Michelle, Keren and our guests Kitty, and Francine. I will be back tomorrow with my release day post and some news for you.

Ooh I think this is one of my favourites of this release- the way you’ve stencilled those waves is brilliant and I love the colours- that red crab really sets everything off ! Will miss coming to your blog each month at this time x

Aww, what a cute scene, Lisa! I love the waves you have added behind the sea bed with the stencil and those crabs are so cute! You have coloured them perfectly! However, even if you had colored them blue, it doesn’t matter, we are not going for realism here! Love it! xx
