Hello again everyone, I am over on the Foiled Fox blog today with another card for you featuring the lovely MFT Merry Moments set that has stolen my heart. You may remember that I did a card a few weeks ago with this set, and so for today’s card I thought I would use some of the other images and create a really clean and simple card. Just a bit of colouring, masking, blending and stencilling.
So here is the card for today. I love how this simple little card turned out.
I took a panel of Neenah 80lb and masked off the edges using Frog Tape. The Frog Tape is about an 1” wide and used at its full width, makes a great border on an A2 panel. I then took the MFT Snow Flurry stencil and some MFT Blu Raspberry Dye Ink and blended it through the stencil to create the snowfall. I removed the stencil and then added some more ink in the masked off area before removing the tape. This creates a much more defined edge than if I had just used the snow stencil. And it creates a lovely backdrop for the images. I made sure to blend more heavily at the top and fade it out towards the bottom.
The images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Copic coloured and cut with the coordinating dienamics. I used a little temporary adhesive to secure them down onto the panel so that I could position my sentiment correctly. I have recently been using the Versafine Clair Nocturne ink for my sentiments and really love the crispness it gives. Plus it doesn’t have the flip lid that Versafine Onyx Black ink has, so my hands stay a lot more clean!
The panel was adhered flat onto a base card and then I added all my images using Multi Medium Matte. Nothing has been popped up on this card, it all sits flat so great for mailing out. To finish, I added a little shimmer onto the trees, presents and Santa’s hat.
Copics used: Trees (G94, YG63, G21, E55), Mountain (C4, C3, C2, C1, C0), Bear (C4, C3, C2, C1, C0, CB), Santa (R29, R27, R24, C7, C3, C1, C0, E51) Presents (BV13, BV02, BV01, YG63, G21)
